At LaSalle Park, neighbours become friends and friends turn into family. Betty and Barbara met in 2013 when our community first opened its doors to the Aldershot community. Barbara had toured a few other retirement homes but wasn’t convinced that they were the right fit. When she discovered LaSalle, she was curious to learn about the “Signature Difference”. The amenities were attractive but it was the heated salt water pool that captured her attention. She loves to swim, and it was important to make a move into a retirement home that would compliment her lifestyle. Since her move, Barbara has been swimming daily and enjoys teaching others once a week how to line dance. She likes to keep busy, and it is rare to find her in her studio suite.
Betty moved in initially with her now late husband, Les. They were ready for a relaxed lifestyle and good camaraderie. They immediately felt the warmth and inviting atmosphere when they came for a tour. One of Barbara’s favourite things to do is meeting with friends in the our Lounge and live entertainment by Brad Boland. Both Barbara and Betty sit together for their meals, and are often found laughing with one another. They know that life is too short to take anything seriously, and they are grateful for the 10 years of memories they’ve had together. They both believe that making a transition into retirement living should be embraced and celebrated.
